“Starting a tuition centre of her own allowed Eileen to do exciting activities with children and their parents such as this.
When asked what made her so passionate about teaching, Eileen answers, “Forming bonds and ties that last for years, and seeing a child grow. Each individual lesson is a little rewarding, especially when you see students walking out from the lesson being able to solve some questions or understand some concepts.””
“She adds, “There are activities like bringing them to the supermarket near the centre, bringing them on an excursion to do map reading and role-playing games. These are all to develop their interest in maths and to help them learn better experientially.”

Genius Plus Academy’s team used to spend half a day every week coming up with resources for comprehension, but now the task is done by ChatGPT in a matter of minutes.
Mr Wong Jing Yong, director and co-founder of Genius Plus Academy, says: “You have to craft the passages in a certain way so that it allows you to teach students certain skills, but with ChatGPT, it now takes a couple of minutes. You just tell it exactly what the requirements are, it will generate the passage, then you refine the passage according to your needs.”
The centre, which has more than 120 students, specialises in mathematics and science at primary and secondary levels, and began offering English on an on-demand basis in 2021. A
