(Jane Speed Question)

PSLE Math 2022 Paper 2 Question 10

A math problem solved about walking distances. Part a shows the calculation for 7.5 km, involving a jog by Jane taking 45 minutes, which is three-fourths of an hour, multiplied by 10. Part b shows the calculation for 3.3 km, related to walking by Linda, which took four-thirds of an hour multiplied by 0.75. A colorful diagram at the bottom illustrates distances and differences with marked measurements and labels.

a) Ans: 7.5km
45 min = 3/4 h
Distance jogged by Jane -> 3/4 h x 10 = 7.5

b) Ans: 3.3km
Distance walked by Linda -> 3/4 h x 4 = 3
7.5 - (3 + 1.2) = 3.3
