PSLE Math 2022 Paper 2 Question 16

Hand-drawn diagram of a subdivided plot of land with measurements, calculations, and formulas related to distances, areas, and perimeters, labeled with points A, B, Y, Z, and shaded sections.

a) Ans: 25.5m
36 ÷ 3 = 12
2 of AB -> 177 – 36 – 36 – 27 – 27 = 51
AB -> 51 ÷ 2 = 25.5

 b) Ans: 136m
Area of plot X -> 25.5 x 12 = 306
Area of plot Z -> 27 x 12 = 324
Area of plot Y -> 876 – 306 – 324 = 246
Length of plot Y -> 246 ÷ 12 = 20.5
25.5 – 20.5 = 5
27 – 20.5 = 6.5
Perimeter -> 36 + 36 + 25.5 + 27 + 6.5 + 5 = 136
