PSLE Math 2023 Paper 2 Question 15

a) 3/8 = 21/56 4/7 = 32/56
(gave away) (packed into 20 boxes)

    56/56 - 21/56 - 32/56 = 3/56
3 units = 24
1 unit = 24 ÷ 3 = 8
32 units = 8 x 32 = 256

b) Assume that all 20 boxes only contain 10 books.
  Total (assumed) → 20 x 10 = 200
Gap (total) → 256 - 200 = 56
 Diff (each) → 18 - 10 = 8
No. of boxes that contained 18 books → gap ÷ diff = 56 ÷ 8 = 7
